Ingersoll Rand has acquired UK-based Transvac Systems Ltd, a specialist in ejector and vacuum technologies, in a strategic move to enhance its capabilities in water treatment and desalination. The acquisition strengthens Ingersoll Rand’s portfolio of energy-efficient solutions for mission-critical flow applications, particularly in high-growth sectors like industrial water reuse and seawater desalination.
Transvac’s expertise in ejector-based systems offers a low-maintenance, energy-saving alternative to traditional mechanical vacuum pumps, making it highly suitable for desalination processes where operational efficiency and reliability are paramount. These systems are often used in multi-effect distillation (MED) and other thermal desalination technologies, helping reduce energy consumption and improve plant performance.
By integrating Transvac’s technology into its Industrial Technologies and Services segment, Ingersoll Rand aims to support global efforts to secure sustainable water supplies, especially in arid regions and industrial zones facing water stress. The acquisition aligns with the company’s broader strategy to invest in innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions.
This move not only expands Ingersoll Rand’s reach in the desalination market but also reinforces its commitment to supporting environmentally responsible water treatment technologies.
