Halliburton Labs has welcomed two new startups — Aquafortus and Sunchem — into its clean energy accelerator program, reinforcing its commitment to advancing sustainable technologies in the energy sector.

Aquafortus, a New Zealand-based company, specializes in zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) solutions for industrial wastewater. Its proprietary technology enables efficient water recovery and brine minimization, offering a scalable alternative to traditional thermal evaporation methods.

Sunchem, headquartered in South Africa, focuses on biofuel production through its patented Solaris crop. This non-edible tobacco plant thrives in arid conditions and produces high yields of sustainable oil, making it a promising feedstock for renewable jet fuel and biodiesel.

By joining Halliburton Labs, both companies gain access to technical expertise, business development support, and a global network of energy industry leaders. The program aims to accelerate commercialization of breakthrough technologies that address climate challenges and improve resource efficiency.

Halliburton Labs continues to position itself as a catalyst for innovation, bridging the gap between early-stage startups and large-scale deployment in the energy transition.
